Talking Through a Slippa is Harry’s new and exciting voice based project. A collaboration with fellow musician Julius Bangert, TTAS create music, soundscapes and surround sound listening experiences. All the material is improvised and is an exploration revealing the incredible versatility of the human voice and orally produced sound. Harry Neve, Vocal Glitch Soundscape
Harry has performed his solo and collaborative voice work at Music Orbit’s “Gobsmacked” event 2008, Scratch the Surface’s “The aesthetics of failure” 2008 and Wattsfest 2008. The human voice is extremely versatile and when pushed to extremes and used in unconventional ways offers up a seemingly endless pallette of sounds. Exploring the potential of the human voice Harry creates both live sonic art and improvised dance music.
Harry collaborated with fellow sound artist Mikhail Karikis and together they wrote a piece entitled “For the Sheik of War”. This piece again explores the outer reaches of human vocal activity. Harry and Mikhail performed this pieceĀ at the Scrtach the Surface event “The aesthetics of Failure” 2008 and Music Orbit’s event, “Gobsmacked” at Bush Hall, London 2008.
